Tripura Receives Substantial Funds for MSME Growth
The government of Tripura has received a significant financial boost of Rs. 65.17 crore under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) scheme. This fund is aimed at promoting the development and expansion of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.
A key objective of this initiative is to provide training to 32,000 unemployed youths in Tripura, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to establish and run successful MSME ventures. The training programs will focus on entrepreneurship development, business management, and other relevant areas, empowering the youth to contribute to the state's economic growth.
The government is also working on a platform for the sale and promotion of local products (One District One Product, or ODOP) from Tripura and other states. This initiative aims to provide a dedicated space for entrepreneurs and artisans to showcase and market their unique products, boosting the local economy and promoting indigenous crafts and industries.
Moreover, under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman (PM Vishwakarma) scheme, aimed at providing skill training, 10,904 out of 50,000 applicants have been enrolled for training as of June 7, 2024. This initiative is designed to equip the workforce with relevant skills and enhance their employability in various sectors.
The state government has also provided incentives and support to promote industrialization and attract investments. Under the Tripura Industrial Investment Incentive Scheme, an amount of Rs. 33.61 crore has been sanctioned since 2019, while under the central incentive scheme, Rs. 52.51 crore has been allocated for the state.
Tripura's trade with Bangladesh has also witnessed growth, with the state registering a business of Rs. 715.98 crore in the last financial year. The government plans to resume the functioning of the Kamalasagar Border Haat, further strengthening cross-border economic activities.
The Tripura Industrial Development Corporation has collected a record Rs. 9.80 crore as lease rent and lease premium in the financial year 2023-24, showcasing the state's efforts to facilitate industrial growth and attract investments.
With these comprehensive measures and dedicated efforts, the government of Tripura aims to foster an enabling environment for MSME growth, encourage entrepreneurship, and promote sustainable economic development in the state.
