Indian Bank’s unique mentoring program “MSME Prerana” for Entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh

"MSME Prerana", which is the first of its kind, is a flagship business mentoring program by Indian Bank’ that completes the series of various initiative taken by Uttar Pradesh Government to strength the Entrepreneurs.

Mr. Rajendra Kumar Tiwari, the Chief Secretary, Govt. of UP, launched the program on 30th January 2021, in the presence of Padjama Chunduru, MD and CEO of Indian Bank. The MSME Entrepreneurs of Lucknow, Kanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bhairaich, Gonda and Hamirpur have well received the “MSME Prerana” Program.

It is an online business mentoring programme for MSMEs by state-run Indian Bank. The programme, to be made available in local languages, is aimed at empowering entrepreneurs through skill development and capacity building workshops.

An important point of this initiative is that Indian Bank has taken an out-of-the-box initiative in launching “MSME Prerana” which will handhold the entrepreneurs through a mentoring program; The initiative is in collaboration with Poornatha & Co, a firm that designs entrepreneurial development programs in various vernacular languages using online web-based interactive sessions and case studies. MSME Prerana will bridge the gap in business skills as well as communication and Human Resource (HR) by providing inputs in simple terms and in the local/ vernacular languages.

The first batch of this online program was conducted on 12th February in UP; in the second and third batch of the program also entrepreneurs have joined from various area of UP, on 17th February, 2021.

MSME Prerana is an online program to complete the efforts of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh and facilitate the development Skills for MSMEs to progress their businesses sustainably and ensure a viable growth, benefiting from govt. initiatives and programmes, especially in post pandemic situation.
