Sahary Bank and Expertise France discuss establishing of SME financing units in Libya

Libya-based Sahary Bank held a discussion with Expertise France on the establishment of an SME financing Unit. The meeting comes within the framework of supporting Libyan banks to establish a unit specialised in serving small and medium-sized enterprises to improve access to finance and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs to develop their companies, Expertise France said.

During the meeting, steps for establishing that unit and designing its structure and responsibilities were discussed in detail. The meeting comes within the wider activities of the #EU4PSL project funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France to support the private sector in Libya.

Expertise France had reported on 27 October that Jumhouria Bank and the Arab Commercial Bank had also recently approved the establishment of SME units to serve small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
