West Bengal is gearing up to empower its small business ecosystem with the launch of the ‘Shilper Samadhane’ initiative, running from November 10 to 28. Designed specifically for MSMEs, this program aims to provide financial support, training, and guidance to help entrepreneurs grow and scale their operations. The core of this initiative is the Bhabishyat Credit Card Scheme, which allows eligible entrepreneurs to access loans of up to ₹5 lakh at a concessional interest rate of 4% per annum. The scheme targets micro-entrepreneurs, artisans, and small business owners aged 18 to 55, offering financial support that reduces entry barriers and eases cash flow constraints. To further assist, the government provides margin money of 10% of the project cost (up to ₹25,000), helping new and existing businesses manage upfront costs effectively.

In addition, administrative support is part of the package. Entrepreneurs will receive help with regulatory approvals, including land mutation, power connections, fire clearances, and pollution compliance, reducing bureaucratic delays that often stall business expansion.
