India's Toy Industry Set for Global Leap

Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal, addressing the 17th Toy Biz International B2B Exhibition 2026 in New Delhi, assured the provision of modern testing facilities across toy clusters through BIS and the National Test House. He urged MSMEs to scale up, noting that export turnover does not affect MSME status. Shri Goyal proposed Centres of Excellence for testing and design, and highlighted the India-UK FTA effective 15 July, plus duty-free access to the EU and Australia. Toy exports grew 239 per cent in four years, while imports fell 32 per cent. India's toy market stands at ₹18,000 crore, with imports now only ₹2,500-3,000 crore. The exhibition featured over 400 Indian toy brands and 15,000 business visitors from 50 countries.
