Rural Women Entrepreneurs Shine at BRICS Meeting

The Ministry of Rural Development showcased women-led rural enterprises under DAY-NRLM at the BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting in Kochi on 8-9 July 2026. The exhibition was inaugurated by Ms. Annapurna Devi and Smt. Savitri Thakur, with delegates from Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa and other BRICS nations visiting the pavilion. Featuring 21 State and UT stalls and the National Saras Aajeevika Gallery, the event displayed handlooms, handicrafts and natural products from Self-Help Groups. The showcase highlighted the contribution of over 10 crore women associated with SHGs, presenting them as globally competitive rural enterprises.
